How We Met! (Tagged by Cody)

WARNING! MAY CONTAIN MUSHY AND WAY TOO MUCH INFO! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK! YOUR EYES MAY NEVER NE THE SAME!

1. Where did we meet? At good ol' Dixie High School!
2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? I thought about how cute he was! He was unlike any boy I'd ever met! Something was different!
3. Do you remember what he/she was wearing? Not exactly, but probably a t-shirt and a pair of lucky's! That is still his entire attire!
4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? At Grandnother Moody's place! (I was living with her when my parents moved back to Delta)
5. Where did you go for your first date? Well on the "official" first date I was retarded! He asked me where I liked to eat and I said Wendy's. (He should have known then at how easy it is to please me!) I ordered the kids meal! (You know, it comes with everything you 'need! Hamburger, coke, fries and the ever so delicious FROSTY) Then we went to go see "Men in Black" and then to Charlies for ice cream!
6. How long did you know this person before you became a couple? Three years! And my poor friends in St. George had to struggle all through it with me! ( Not to mention my parents! )
7. How did he/she ask you out? He just called me. Actually, it is very funny! We (my family ! and I) had been in Delta for the 4'th of July and when we got back he had called me four times on my caller ID. I told everyone in my family to NEVER erase his number (at least until he called back) but my dad being the compassionate man he is, erased it anyway! I could have died! Thankfully for my dad's sake, he called a few hours later.
8. How did he propose to you? If any one does not want to read this mushy stuff I so don't blame you!!! I was living in American Fork with my aunt and working in Salt Lake when Chris got home from his mission. I was getting ready to go on a mission myself and told him to start dating other girls! He wouldn''t listen to me. One night I was sitting all alone evaluating my life and it hit me like a brick wall! "Marry this guy you crazy girl before he listens to you and meets someone else!" I couldn't imagine my life without him so when he called me on the phone that night he could tell something had changed! At the end of our conversation he said "Why won't you"
I replied "Why won't I what?"
"Marry me?"
I couldn't say no! Two weeks later, I found myself at the Timpanogos temple with a lot of roses and a ring on my finger!
9. Do you and this person have kids together? Five crazy kids!
10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? No. Unless you count speeding.
11. When was the first time you realized you liked this person? When I was a junior. He would come watch us play volleyball and I thought he was hot! We were on a stake committee together for New Year's Eve and when I walked into the stake center I told my friend Betsy that my future husband was here, I could feel it! She thought I was losing my marbles! I turned the corner and Chris was standing at the end of the hall. My heart started jumping out of my body and the butterflies were fluttering away! (Cheesy huh!)
12. Do you trust this person? With everything!
13. Do you see her/him as your partner in your future? Of course!
14. What is the best gift she/he gave you? A block of wood that says "Believe" with a letter of encouragement! And my five beautiful kids!
15. What is one thing He/She does that gets on your nerves? When he plays computer games (like Tiger Woods golf, thanks alot Brian) on sunday morning, that eirks me!!! Like we have nothing better to do with our time!!! You can't tell I'm bitter can you!
16. Where do you see each other 15 years from now? Hopefully finished with school! I also plan on enjoying these five kids at every stage so whatever they are doing, mission, college, marriage etc.....I am excited about experiencing it together!
17. What causes the most arguments? Selfish me!!! I am the problem 99% of the time!
18. How long have you been together? Since July of 1997. Minus two years of his mission where he faithfully wrote and I faithfully dated!
19. Are you Married? Yepper!
20. Who do you tag? I want to tag Jodi, my mom (mom, hearing how you and dad met never gets old!), Amy and Anna! Also Jamie if she will!!! I don't know how her and Dave met so that would be fun!

Temple Lighting

We have a family tradition of going to see the temple lighting. (It is when the Christmas lights get turned on) I usually take the kids by myself because of Chris' work schedule but this year he was able to go! Mark Eubank is on a mission down here so he was the host. He told some fun stories. Anyhow here are the pictures.

Three blondes and a brunette

So, if anyone truly knows who I am they will atest to the fact that I don't like change! At all!!! I shuned ankle socks, bell bottoms were something you laughed at because your parents wore them, moving to St. George was something my parents did to me out of pure hatred, and the list goes on! So naturally I am always surprised to find out that change is good! Anything new or different should be tried! I REALLY like ankle socks, bell bottoms are actually comfy, and moving to St. George was one of the best things my parents ever did for me! So when the book "Twighlight" came out I was totally not willing to read it because it was new! All the girls tried to get me to read it and I would simply say, "I would" and go on with my life! I thought that the count down to the movie on peoples blogs were silly. NOW I know what I missed out on! Last night I went to the movie with my sisters and watched the darn movie that now has me spending every thought on Edward and Bella and Emmitt and Alice, etc. I now have the books and I will read them as fast as I can! Thank you to my sisters for letting me go with you to the movie and thanks for explaining it to me throughout it! I had a blast! It is sure fun to have sisters! Also thanks Brian and Jodi for watching my kids! You don't even know how much I appreciate it. And Jodi, lets hit the midnight showing soon!

Fun Times!

So, it has been an exciting week/weekend for us! To start it off, my dad was called as Bishop and so we headed home to give him our love and support. We had a great time!! I got to see my Aunts and Uncles from my Warnick side and that was a blast! Then Jackie, Fran, and I were all about singing around the piano until Wyatt brought out Pat Benetar's song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" we shouldn't have, but we did! All I can say is go Fran!!!! Jack and I were the backups! It was exciting! Then it was SEP's (parent-teacher conf.) for the girls so they had half day all week. I met with their teachers and both girls are doing really good in school! then thursday came and Cicely got sick! Really sick! Still don't know what is wrong but we will be heading to the Doc tomorrow! And then Friday came...All was going just fine until about six o'clock in the evening. We went to take lunch to Chris and on our way home Chet started wiggen out! Saying that a penny was stuck in his tooth! Then he said that it was in his throat! Sure enough, he had swallowed a Penny! No big deal, he was still breathing! Well to make a long story short Fran came over to hang out while the hubby's were at work and Meg came in and wanted me to go with her to "see something" Yes, Chet was throwing up trying to get the penny out! Frantically I called Chris who then called the Doctor who then called me and he told me to get to the ER because the penny could be stuck in his throat. I left the kids with Aunt Nannie (by the way thank you so much Fran!) and headed to the hospital carrying a sick and uncomfortable Chet. They did the x-rays and found no penny, so his body must have gotten rid of it! Thankfully he is ok! I feel very blessed! We did give him the "Don't put any money in your mouth" talk (again) so we are hoping we are past that!

What is your husbands full name? Christopher Glen Atkinson
How long have you been married? Eight years
How long did you date? Officially Five months before his mission and then five months after.
How old is he? Old.
Who eats more sweets? Unfortunately I do! Bummer Huh!
Who said I love you first? He did! It took me a while because that is big committment.
Who is taller? He is.
Who can sing the best? Me.
Who is smarter? As being a mom I am smarter. At being the dad he is..
Who does the laundry? I do.
Who pays the bills? He does.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.
Who mows the lawn? Well he did until school started and then he was too busy so I do now. I even fixed the lawn mower! Snaps for Chanda.
Who cooks dinner? I usually do unless I get overwhelmed and then he will do it. He is awesome!
Who drives? He does. He is the worst back seat driver ever so I would rather avoid the tension!
Who kissed who first? Chris kissed me first. Something I will never let him live down!
Who asked who out first? Well this is tricky because we had alot of first dates! Sounds weird I know! First, my cousin set me up with Chris because I had a major crush. Then I asked him to a girls choice dance, and then he asked me out officially after we graduated. That is the first date to him. We were friends for a long time before we started dating.
Who wears the pants? Hmmmm.....I would have to say that I let him think he does but really I do. I can get pretty much whatever I want if I work it right!

I tag anyone who wants to be tagged!

Halloween Fun!

We had a jam packed Halloween! We started it off with Chrislyn's school parade. Then I brought the younger kids home (and left them with Grandma A) so that I could help out with Chrislyn' and Cicely's class parties. It was alot of fun seeing my girls in their respective elements! Chrislyn is still a boy-crazy girl. However she does back it up! There was a treasure hunt where they had to dig in a huge pot of loose corn kernels straight from the farm (and it stunk!) That was the game I was in charge of monitoring. All the little girls would barely get their fands dirty! Chrislyn was in a group with all boys and she dug into that pot without hesitation! Laughing the whole time! Cicely had a great party too! I got to watch her parade and she made sure I got a picture! (as I didn't see her at first and she backed up the parade until a picture was taken!) The rest of the day was fun! We did the old fashioned trick-or-treating thing and I realized how much I missed going door to door! Chris had to work so we went and saw him! (Uncle Jacob gave them a BIG candybar for trick-or-treating at Costco). Cooper was superman for half of the day. (For the other half he was just Cooper!)
Courtlin was not a Happy Halloweener! This was Chrislyn before the Vampire Make-up was applied! She made up her own outfit. She ended up being Doctor Dracula! I desperately tried to get her to be a princess!!! Oh-well!
Cicely was a pretty little princess bossing all of us around! (actually not very unusual!) She did get some crazy glasses from her school party and she wore them the rest of the day!
Fireman Chet. He was this for the second year in a row!
I bet ya can't guess what he wants to be when he grows up!

Black-eyed and still goin'

Cooper has the worst luck! (Well maybe he lacks coordination) I guess he is a real boy now! It looked alot worse a couple of days after I took the picture. Everybody in our ward are worried to take their kids to nursery! I guess a two year old with a black eye can be pretty intimidating! (By the way, he ran into the couch at Grandma A's)

Blackmail!!!!

My BIG laugh today is when I walked into the bathroom and saw Chet with his underwear on his head. Are boys really this simple? I guess it doesn't take much to entertain this boy! What a nerd!

Just out of curiosity, How many of your boys (husbands. sons or even brothers) have thought it was cool to put their underwear on their own head?

Dudes and Donuts

Today was "Dudes and Donuts" and according to my daughters it was Christmas! This has been a long awaited event. (Once a year is just not enough) They woke up got in the shower (without me even having to ask!), washed their hair AND there was no fighting! We even let Chet go! I love that my kids LOVE their dad!

Mother in Training

One day I was getting pretty irritated with Chrislyn. She was just being to darn helpful. I said, "Chrislyn, I am the mom you are not!" She replied, "Well I am practicing to be a mom!"
Duh! Of course she is! Who am I to tell her no! I learned a HUGE lesson that day that if she was going to learn how to be a mother I needed to be a better teacher! So I started letting Cicely and her help give Court's baths. They are doing pretty good too!

Laughs by Cicely

I was getting Cicely ready for school today and in our conversation I was quickly reminded of a funny story.

Our "Sweet Cicely" had severe ear problems as a baby that has left a slight speech problem. Anyhow one Sunday after church we were discussing with the kids what they had learned in their classes that day.
When it came time for Cicely to tell she simply said "Elections".
"Elections huh," we responded.
"Yep, elections"
Chris and I a little worried said "Calling and election?"
"Nope, elections"
Well after drilling her the rest of the day we were clueless! We even tried to get Chris' parents to talk to her to find out. Our concern was that she just either wasn't paying attention or her hearing was so bad that she was making it all up. We let it go and on with our lives we went!
A couple of weeks later I was cleaning up lunch and doing the dishes. She brought her plate to me and said, "Mom, this wasn't very good next time follow the elections!"
I responded by saying, "Cicely you know a couple of weeks ago in Primary, was your lesson on being obedient and following the directions!"
She said"Yep" and ran off to play.
I laughed so hard! It is good to have those funny moments in life. I hope you enjoyed it.

Court's Growing!

We wanted to show everyone how big Cordy is getting! She is getting chunky little cheeks and thighs. Which for us older women isn't exciting but we are so happy that she is healthy and strong!

Cooper has made up his mind!

It only took 2 1/2 weeks for Cooper to decide that he was going to like Courtlin! He hasn't paid too much attention to her but the other day I caught him looking at her and then with no hesitation he planted a big one right on her cheek! I clapped and cheered him on and now he loves to kiss his baby sister!

We had an exciting Saturday last week. It was Cooper's birthday, my cousin Ray's wedding, and Chris had an alumni baseball game! The wedding was beautiful! It was the first time I had met Ray's girl Dani. She is really cute! Courtlin got to meet almost all my Aunts and Uncles from the Moody family. That is doing pretty good since my mom has ten in her family! Cooper had a great birthday! He had ice cream cake and he got a basketball hoop. He also loved going to watch Chris play some baseball! It was fun being back At Flyer field! It brought back SO many memories! Chris did really good! His first time up he got a double! My kids were really proud of him!

6 Quirks

So I was tagged by Amy but I can't remember the rules. I guess that just means that I have to name six quirks but not tag anyone else. You know me, I am pretty quirky!

1. I can't finish anything! No matter how hard I try, I always leave a project unfinished! It is a good thing I married Chris "Mr. Finisher". I am working on this. I promise, I will finish this tag thing!
2. I have to have fruit everyday! I crave fruit! I love fruit! I love the summer because the Atkinson's have major fruit trees and I dry fruit all summer long (but it doesn't last long!). My family would not survive without fruit (or vegies).
3. I always have music on in my house! Sometimes Chris turns it soft so he can think! Sometimes I have music on in every room! I love BYU radio! Anything oldies! I am sure I learned this at my home growing up! We used to sing around the piano for hours! Let's face it, you can't be part of the Warnick/Moody family and not love music!
4. Sometimes I ask Chris to do things that I can do for myself! It is kind of a "Princess Bride" kind of thing! I just need to know he loves me! Service is my love language!
5. I am addicted to Food Storage! I am all about being prepared for a disaster!
6. I count everything! (Tiles on the floor, holes in the laundry basket, stairs, etc.) It actually works out really good because I will count something and then forget the number and have to count everything all over! I love to count!

There I finished something! Wha-Who

Happy 2'nd Birthday Cooper!

We love our Cooper! He adds so much to our family! These are some of my favorite pictures! He got into Hunt's birthday cupcakes and we thought he was covered in camo! What a stud muffin our little man is! His favorite things are: movies, his mom, playing with any ball, and chocolate milk! Happy Birthday Cooper! We love you!!!
