It's like pulling teeth! (to get a picture of these 5!)

One picture. That is all I was asking for. Ya Right! I should have said one decent picture! Next time I will be more specific!

Thanksgiving Pictures

Thanksgiving morning

It was a cold Thanksgiving morning but the kids insisted on raking the leaves. They had a fun time getting all bundled up but only stayed outside for a few minutes! (Isn't that how it always works!)

The Final product... A lot of leaves!

4 weeks post-op of TTT knee surgery

I never like to write any long posts but this has been a huge accomplishment for me to make it these past 4 weeks! I wanted to write about it so I could remember how awful this has been and hopefully when I look back at this time of life I will be thankful for those small things in life!

Week 1 of post-op-Was by far the hardest week of my life! The meds they put me on made me super sick and always faint! My leg was constantly on fire and it was hard to sleep!
On the up side to that first week I was able to see the generosity of friends, ward members and family! Especially Chris! He was so strong for me! When I cried he let me cry in his arms and I always soaked his shirt! When I couldn't sleep he sat up with me! When I fainted he was there! I am also grateful for my awesome kids! That first day I got home they were all so terrified and I feel bad that they had to see me like that!
I learned that first week to be grateful for my ice machine that kept my leg pain manageable! My hubby/kids always made sure that I had ice in it! Chrislyn bleached her first load of laundry and I had to learn to laugh and not cry! I am grateful for that lesson!
(I am also so very grateful to be past that first week!)
Week 2-Was a little better! I got the stitches taken out and I was able to switch medications so that I wasn't so sick all the time! I also started stretching out my knee and that was painful but it felt better to do something other than just sitting around! Having the stitches removed meant that I could bath again without wrapping myself up like a leftover! It was nice to be able to take baths and showers again! The jet baths I took probably saved my life! Also I was able to sleep a little better because I didn't have to wear my brace to bed! Chris worked alot so I was very grateful for those who brought in meals and took my kids! I tried to do as much by myself but I still needed alot of help!
Week 3-I started feeling quite a bit better! My leg would swell up big time if I stood up for too long but I was grateful that my knee was starting to feel better! I was able to watch my kids all by myself this week but I was still grateful for those who gave my kids rides to the primary program and came over to visit. Also the dinners kept coming in and I was so grateful for those who thought of me and my family!
Week 4-I am starting to feel more like myself! I was able to cut down on the pain meds to only having them at night. I actually wore levis! I started driving a little this week but only a little! I picked Chet up from school and he LOVED that! He said "Mom it is so good to see you" I went to the doc and he gave me the go ahead to start walking in my brace. I start physical therapy on Monday. I will start shock therapy and pt to help with the walking. I also got a cane and yes, I feel very old! Over all the past 4 weeks havehad there ups and downs but I am so grateful for the family and friends that I have that have been patient with me and also for those that have served me! I feel truly blessed and humbled at this crazy time of my life!

Knee Surgery

I got TTT (Knee) surgery on October 22. Basically my knee cap was not in the correct spot and was rubbing the cartilage away and causing me some pretty good pain. I was torn about getting the surgery but I did end up getting it done. They broke my tibia and used some of the tendons to fix the knee cap screwed them in and then did a scope to clean it all out! It has been a HUGE trial for me! I am on crutches and walk very slowly. My kids have been awesome through it all but mostly Chris has been a stud! He is such a great man and I am so grateful for his patience and service he shows me! I am also grateful to everyone who has brought in meals and watched my kids! Especially my mom and my mother-in-law! My heart has been truly touched throughout this trial and I have been very humbled! Thank you again to you all!

Dixie State's Homecoming Parade 100 years

Harvest Hop

The elementary school puts on this fun program/fundraiser. The kids learn dances and perform them in front of all their families. The kids and teachers work really hard to make their dances great1 My kids loved performing their dances! Chrislyn is also in the school choir so she got to sing too! We had a fun night supporting the kids and as always we LOVE being together as a family! I am grateful to all of my kids' teachers who work so hard!
