It'S BeeN OnE Of ThOsE DaYzz!!

Hunt and Cooper loved wearing the helmets!

It was a nice over cast day here in Southern Utah so I took the kids to the park and let them ride their bikes for almost three hours! They were so pumped about the new helmets I bought them and they really enjoyed taking off the knee and elbow pads and putting them back on. Cicely and Chet are quite new at riding their bikes without training wheels so there of course were alot of falls (mostly Cicely's) but all-in-all it was a perfect day for playing at the park. It wasn't until we were getting ready to head home that Chet took off his helmet and crashed face first into the blacktop! It was awful! We had walked to the park and so here I was blocks away from our house without a car. The kids had been running through the sprinklers and so they were soaking wet. I quickly assessed Chet's injury and then pulled off his wet shirt and put it on his nose that was bleeding. Thankfully Chris was just getting off work and had called me and I told him what was up and he hurried to where I was at! He obviously couldn't give any of us a ride cause he drives a scooter (while great on gas, not great for guests) To make a long story short we made it home and got some meds and ice for Chet. The pictures actually don't do his face justice. Thank goodness for Nurse Dad! Then to top it all off, Brian and Jodi came over tonight with their kids and Allie Jo fell off the stool. She slashed her chin open and looks like she might need stitches! It has just been one of those days for us! I can't wait to go to bed! Hopefully tomorrow will bring safer fun!!!

awww poor little guy. I remember when I was babysitting my nephew years ago and he had just learned to ride his bike and he crashed. He comes in the house crying COVERED in blood and says " I think I need a band-aid" I freaked out. He ended up getting some stitches..... Hope he starts feeling better. I needed the little reminder of helmet safety.

What a day full of falls!! Hope all is alright with everyone and that the healing process is going well. It is a good thing the Chris is in the medical field now, it might save you some money in the future!!

That is horrible, poor little guy. I hope you don't have any more incidences like that for a long while.
